So yes, there were still physical layers of her health we addressed, but the bigger work for her was this journey of self discovery. Most of all, she learned that, rather than backing away from scenarios that gave her anxiety, that each one was an opportunity to lean in and reframe the situation and set clear and healthy boundaries that were good for everyone involved □□ She even began having daily bowel movements as she, quite literally, was now able to release things □ I even asked her to use the safe space of our sessions to practice voicing things so she could “exercise that muscle”.Īfter she began using the Enneagram as a framework to work through her peace-above-all-else tendencies, major shifts in her main health complaints started happening. So our next several coaching sessions centered around this, helping her learn to use her voice with her husband, family, colleagues, and friends. Part of the growth path of a Peacemaker is identifying what they need and want and practicing speaking it without worrying as much about the repercussions or the reaction of others…being ok with “rocking the boat”. She realized that certain scenarios would trigger her anxiety when she was being the ever-self-sacrificing Peacemaker. ![]() Once she understood this about herself, she started connecting the dots. Which, if left unchecked, can turn into repressed anger and anxiety. They also don’t like to rock the boat or say anything to upset anyone. Peacemakers are generally known to be easy-going and friendly. She was an Enneagram Type 9, which is known as The Peacemaker. ![]() I asked her if she’d be open to doing the Enneagram test, since several types have tendencies that can be linked to symptoms such as anxiety and panic. One of our clients came to us with severe anxiety, panic attacks, and constipation. How knowing her Enneagram type helped her overcome a lifelong health challenge > ![]()
